Review: Decent cheap sock needles - I have owned this set for nearly 2 years. The 2.0 mm (US 0) in this set is my most-used sock needle, and the 2.5 mm (US 1) works great for casting on. They are longer than standard 6"/15 cm sock needles so at the end of my toe decreases the extra length starts to get a bit unwieldy. Don't expect to be able to do double decreases with these as the tips are rather blunt. Durability is great for the price; I use the two smallest sizes the most and they haven't bent on me yet (I am a tight knitter). Had an odd chemical/petroleum smell when I first got them but it has dissipated with time.
Review: I LOVE these needles! Great quality at a great price. - I've been knitting for 50+ years. These days I primarily knit fine lace or lace patterns on sport or heavier weight yarns for baby blankets and afghans. With the many yarn overs and purposefully slipped and combined stitches the needles need to slide and nothing does that better than metal. I removed every needle from the package and checked the size to my needle gauge and also checking for rough spots, they were sized correctly and the needles smooth. The points on these needles are perfect. The smaller sizes have the sharp points I need for gossamer, ethereal or other lace weight yarns, the larger sizes taper perfectly and have just a slight rounding at the very tip so I won't split heavier 3 or 4 ply yarns I might use for afghans. I read the reviews and was a bit hesitant, but for the price they were worth taking a chance and I'm so glad I did. Like others suggested, you may want to give the needles a light wipe down before using for the first time as I noticed a slight gray residue on the first few stitches of the swatch I worked up. I was using leftover yarn and have no plans to continue with this particular fiber so it isn't a big deal, nor should wiping them down be. Honestly I cannot imagine starting a project with expensive yarn and NOT making sure my needles were pristine beforehand.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality is good. Some listed sizes are wrong. Overall, I'm happy.

Got these today so I can't speak to their longevity. But, at a glance, they're better than I expected them to be. I've started using the 4.5 mm (US size 7) set and they're great so far. I decided to buy this kit despite some negative reviews because I figured: if only two of the eleven sets were viable, it still would have been a good price ($11.85 as of this writing). In my particular case, all 55 needles are viable (although there are a couple quirks detailed below). For the price, that's kind of incredible. Thus I went with 5 stars. Here are some highlights and then give a bit more detail below. PROS: + Very lightweight. I was surprised at how light the package (all 55 needles together) was. + Slick. Basically no friction. (If you're a beginner, this might be a con.) + No burrs or scratches. + $0.22 per needle. $1.08 per 5-needle set. CONS: - Some mild denting on a few needles. Nothing so bad as to make them unusable. - A slight metallic odor. Unpleasant but not noxious. (Might just be my pregnancy nose.) - No size markings on the needles themselves. Only the pouches are labeled with sizes. - Some sizes are inaccurate. LACK OF SIZE MARKINGS The lack of size markings on the needles themselves concerned me. It could cause a number of problems down the line. (If you misplace a pouch, you won't know what size the matching set is. If you have multiple sets in rotation you might accidentally put the wrong set in the wrong pouch at the end of a project. If you lose a needle and then find it again later you might not be able to match it up to it's correct set.) I resolved this by buying an inexpensive needle gauge tool to add to my knitting kit. Adding the cost of that tool to the cost of this set bumped the cost-per-needle up to $0.35 and the cost-per-set up to $1.69. In other words, it's still a great deal. That said, I'll probably use the gauge tool for more than just keeping this set in order. Buying the gauge tool also allowed me to discover the sizing errors detailed below... SIZING ERRORS Three of the sets I received are not the size indicated on their pouches. Not sure if this is an issue for all kits or just mine. Here are the details: + The pouch labeled 3.5 mm (US size 4) contains 3.75 mm needles (US size 5). + The pouch labeled 2.5 mm (US size 1.5) contains 2.75 mm needles (US size 2). + The pouch labeled 2.75 mm (US size 2) contains 3 mm needles (US size 2.5). So my package didn't include a true 2.5 mm set or a true 3.5 mm set. The sizes that these needles actually are are real US sizes and the original listing skips over some sizes anyway so I don't think I've lost out on any value on these two sets. On the other hand, the mislabeled 3 mm set is a duplicate for a set that was listed and included. So I got 10x 3 mm needless instead of 5x. This could be considered a loss of value--approximately $1's worth of value. I'm not too bothered by it.
