Review: LG AG-S250 3D Active Shutter Glasses for 2011 LG 3D Plasma HDTVs - LG 3D Glasses... Well for starters, this is my second 3d tv with active shutter glasses. My first 3D tv is made by Samsung, and there are some slight variations between the two. I hope you will have a better understanding of how the two work so you can make a more informed decision when you buy an active 3D tv and glasses. First thing you need to know is: whatever the brand of 3D tv that you buy... you have to buy the same brand of 3D glasses. So If you buy an LG 3D tv, then you have to buy LG 3D glasses. This is a requirement, LG glasses will not work with any other brand of 3D tv. The same goes for Samsung... if you buy a Samsung tv then you have to buy Samsung 3D glasses. This goes for any and all brands of 3D tv you buy... I'm just using LG and Samsung in my examples because they are the two brands I personally own. Now I'm told there are whats called "Universal" 3D glasses that are designed to work with any brand tv. However Since I have not owned a pair of "Universal" 3D glasses, I can't comment on how they work. So if you are looking into buying universal 3D glasses, I suggest you contact customer support and find out everything you need to know before buying. Looking up user/owner reviews, and using a search engine like Google to find out as much info as you can before buying a "Universal" pair of 3D glasses is highly recommended. One more requirement to buying 3d glasses that work with the 3D tv you have or are buying, is the manufacturing year. In both of my user manuals for my glasses the manuals stated that these glasses work with 2011 and newer tv's... but they are not backwards compatible with a 3D tv made before 2011. This means that the 2011 model 3D tv's are using a different technology than the 2010 models. So if you have a tv made in 2010 you will need to buy 3D glasses from 2010. Okay, now we are finally to the similarities and differences. (sorry you've had to read all of this so far... I tend to type way too much) These LG Glasses are very nice, the package includes a silk like bag to store your glasses in when they are not in use, which is really nice and the bag can be used to clean the lenses if they get a little dusty. These glasses are also able to bend the part that rests on your ears, so the glasses can be folded up and placed inside the bag that is included. The battery is rechargeable and comes with a recharging cable that must be plug into a USB port. If you don't know or are not sure what a USB port is, this link will help you out: [...] There are only three things I don't like about the LG brand 3D glasses. 1) They tend to power off a little too soon for my tastes, however this is a good feature if you take off the glasses and forget to turn them off, this will save you recharge time later. 2) They are not as comfortable on my face as I would like, however I might just have a fat head :) 3) They don't have an automatic power on feature like the Samsung glasses have. Now on to the Samsung glasses. They were very similar to the LG glasses in that they were the same color, same rechargeable battery, same uncomfortable feel when worn for an entire movie. But there are some huge differences such as: 1) These glasses don't fold up at all, meaning they take up a lot more space when not in use. 2) They don't come with anything to store them in like the bag that comes with the LG glasses do. However they do come with a cleaning cloth. 3) The USB cable used to charge the battery is in my opinion superior to the one that comes with the LG glasses because it is the same USB cable that my Droid 2 uses. So that means if I lose or break the recharging cable, I have another in the house that I can use. :) 4) These glasses have a lovely automatic power on feature that is really nice... as soon as you place the glasses on your head they power up for you (Meaning you wont ever have to worry about forgetting to turn on your glasses and wonder why the 3D movie isn't in 3D, I have done this twice already), they also have the auto power off feature that the LG glasses have, but it doesn't turn off nearly as often as the LG glasses do. That's all the important information I can think of to share with you at this time. I hope this has helped you out in some way. I also hope that your not too mad at me for being a wind bag. :)
Review: LG's Best 3D Active Shutter Glasses - LG's leadership in plasma technology carries over to the LG AG-S250 Glasses for 2011 3D Plasmas. The glasses can easily be worn over standard glasses, with no issues and good comfort. To my surprise, they offer a reasonable fit for children age 5 and up. The quality of the build is tops, and paired with LG-3d Plasmas and one of the better 3d players (Oppo,Panny,LG), family and friends experience the best 3d viewing experience outside of an IMAX theatre. The built-in battery use time is ample, about 4 hours of continous use before recharging, via USB connection in your PC for about 30 min.; enough for 90 min. of viewing. The only production flaw in the AG-S250 glasses is they "shut-off" about once every hour while you are watching TV. I am told this due to turning away from the IR beam for too long a time, but that is not my experience, they just turn-off! However, just 1 press on the on-off switch, and you are back in 3d land. For the budget minded, I've seen third-party glasses claimed to be compatable with LG-Plasma TV's. Make sure you check the list of approved TV's before you buy. I paid an extra $20 bucks for the LG, the real-deal. BTW- Avatar 3d will release this month (non panny version)at more afordable prices right here on desertcart. Go buy an extra pair of glasses for your LG Plasma, and enjoy!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ They work great
*by D***N on November 11, 2011*

These glasses work great with my lg 50pz550 which i got with the amazon deal on 3D tvs, they are quite comfy to me and it does make the room quite dark when you have these on cause it is like wearing sunglasses. They do shut off every now and then if you dont move for awhile because they dont sense that anyone is wearing them although that is not a big deal all you have to do is move your head every few moments that is really the only thing that was bothersome and its not even that bad of an annoyance. One cool thing that my wife discovered about them since she wears glasses, you can take the part that sits on your nose and adjust it for people with glasses.
