I put it in a big bowl and covered it with water. Then I tore the moss clumps into smaller pieces and mixed it all together. I didn't leave it to soak long. I repotted a store bought orchid and set it in its new home. then I put the left over mix in a strainer and let it dry out again (a couple of days).
