Kind of get a few rungs up and then extend the feet out. The safety bars are on upside-down though. Seems a design flaw, as flipping them to actually do what they are supposed to will place them higher than the storage position.Collapsing the ladder is a gamble. You will smash your thumbs. It involves releasing 4 locks, while holding the highest rung, but the rung below will only go half way so it ends up falling while you hold the top one.. user beware..It does seem like a decent ladder at a decent price. Not sure I’m going to ever completely trust it, something about plastic in critical areas and high places..Otherwise it seems built good, it’s heavy and the bottom posts must be 2” diameter.
