I cannot say about how long they will last, although they look very well made etc, but after my first walk in them they are great. I dont find them bulky, all walking boots have to be reasonably sized for support, I am a size ten always, and these fit perfectly (I am a wide fitting). No wearing in period needed, probably the most comfortable boot I have ever worn or up there with the most comfortable, and I have years of safety boot wearing as a truck driver to compare it against.
