Review: Doesn't work and can't be timely repaired. - I really wanted to love this bike and the company because i like my ifit running profram, but here is the story: 2 - bikes, both defective. First bike was returned in December, second delivery in early January. I kept bike since this one at least could be assembled, unlike the first one. I paid for assembly, second delivery refused to assemble the bike since it was not in their "contract". NordicTrack scheduled repair people in January, they showed up, figured out I needed new parts (common defect for this model), ordered those. They arrived within a week. However, at this point mid April, after half a dozen of calls to NordicTrack, I still have a broken bike. They keep assigning me the same repair company who refuses to even call me back. That's only available through Nordic Track directly. I don't understand why Amazon isn't saying that there is a "newer" version. Please make sure you are ordering the NTEX02121 model and not the NTEX02117. The new version is supposedly quieter and has a faster chip and hi def quality to the screen. I cancelled my order with Amazon and went directly to NordicTrack. **Q: Once the 1yr iFit runs out, can you use recorded workouts, videos, etc.. without having any ifit membership?** A: Don’t agree with other posts. IFIT is great and single membership is $15 a month. On a bike like this one, you can have the instructor control resistance during a workout. Much better than turning on a movie or whatever for my needs. **Q: How difficult was this to assemble? We're a little anxious that it will be overwhelming, even though we're pretty handy** A: I bought this and opted to save money by assembling it myself. The instructions were pretty clear, but it does take some effort to get it all together. (I considered it my first workout!) As you can imagine, sometimes things didn't fit quite right. If you are fairly handy with tools and such you should be okay. Missing a bit of hardware (screws) and weights (not relevant for me) and one bit of plastic trim broken (not an issue) but otherwise mint. Purchased for less than a 3rd of the price or just a 3rd of the price after taxes. A steal. Bearing that in mind, do I think this is worth a 3rd of the price or the full price. Yes in both cases. I have a sister company spin bike I picked up which has similar elevation functionality for a similar price and will retain both. The ifit is worthwhile, fully immersive and a lot of fun to distract you from thinking you are home. I'm not a studio cycle guy but prefer the outside rides. The picture quality is amazing and the fully interactive aspects of the rides are a lot of fun.
