LUBEGARD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID (ATF) PROTECTANT is for use in all automatic transmissions and manuals requiring an ATF, including heavy duty transmissions, such as Allison. Use with all synthetic or mineral based DEXRON, MERCON & OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) ATF’s (except Ford Type F ATF & CVT applications). Lubegard controls heat and is especially effective in today’s hotter running front wheel drive vehicles. It contains LXE (Liquid Wax Ester) Technology and their derivatives, base oils and conventional additives. Lubegard is designed to raise the thermal and oxidative stability level of automatic transmission fluids, so when it operates at elevated temperatures, it does not thin out and pyrolize, burn or react with oxygen and form deposits. The use of LUBEGARD ATF Protectant will not cause clutch friction upset or slippage. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: For normal applications, add 1 oz. (29. 6 mL) per quart (Liter) of ATF to the total transmission capacity (including torque converter) with motor idling in park. Do not overfill.

Review: Night & Day - MADE SO MUCH DIFFERENCE. Ok — so I got my original transmission on my 2010 Honda Odyssey at 293,000 miles, and the gears were getting a little rough as it neared being due for a change. I changed the transmission fluid with Valvoline Max Life and it did a lot of wonders, but it wasn’t perfect. Which is fine, 293k miles, what do you expect? That last gear shift down was still rough but everything else was buttery smooth. Last drain and fill, I added this to it. I was careful of the 1oz per quart .. and at first, there was no difference. About 100 miles in, the hard shift was gone. I cannot tell you how amazing it is to drive. The transmission is smooth that you can only hear it shift versus feeling it. With now over a thousand miles more on the 3 drain and fills with Lubegard as the last top up, it’s as good as ever. Old girl is ready for more long road trips! I know the recommendation is to not mix lubegard and valvoline max life but again, my van is close to 300k on original transmission and it was starting to shift hard anyway. I was taking a gamble either way, and it paid off. But I would only do this on a transmission so old you’re like “well, if it fails, it fails.”

A: change the valve body.

**Q: I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty 2.8 CRD which uses ATF+4 in its RFE545 transmission. Can I use this in my transmission?**
A: I would ask a local transmission shop.  I have used this in my Contour, CRV and Civic.  It seems that a lot of transmission shops use this on rebuilts to avoid failures under warranty.  I didn't over think it with my Honda vehicles since such a small amount is added to the transmission.  I would not only check with some transmission shops, I would also check some of the blogs that are relative to your vehicle.

**Q: Which lubegard to use? red, black, universal....etc  this is for 2007 toyota corolla lock-up solenoid issue.**
A: It is compatible, will it help ? Its worth a try.
I would do a couple of poor mans flushes first, drain the pan & refill with fresh fluid, drive 200-500 miles & repeat until the fluid comes out looking nice & red, then refill & use the lubeguard, good luck!

**Q: Can I use this on my 2007 Toyota Rav4 v6 ?**
A: Keep in mind that some people do not like any form of a liquid mechanic. This product is proven to help clear buildup on shift solenoids plus other slippery benefits, but it is definitely not a cure for a bad transmission or a band aid to avoid replacing dirty old partially burned oil. If your automatic transmission is still in reasonable working condition, but is a bit sluggish when changing gears, mildly slips out of gear on occasion, or vibrates ever so slightly when negotiating a slight incline at a slow speed while in a higher gear (i.e., low rpm), this product - like other similar products - will typically improve old car transmission performance and decrease some of the bad "vibrations". A neglected transmission that is still in good operating order may benefit from two or three properly sequenced transmission fluid flushes - each time supplemented with a dose of this or similar product. Always defer to your favorite mechanic - not to one of the national chain lube shops that offer "rapid" service. Also check the maintenance section of your car's manual. My car for example recommends changing (flushing) the transmission fluid at 150000 miles, but does not mention a need to change the transmission oil filter. - So, first read the manual to gain some important insight.

ASE Master Certified +L1 and Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician. I am very against aftermarket additives and only use OE spec fluids, However this product saved me a good amount of headache. My personal 2001 corolla had DTC P0770 (SL solenoid malfunction). Car had 200k so I knew that the transmission might have built on varnish/debris within the transmission. Most likely TTC Solenoid had debris stuck. DTC would appear every 2-5 miles at above 50mph. After adding this additive, Vehicle no longer throws the DTC after 200 miles. Looks like it cleared the debris/varnish from the solenoid and or freed it up. Though this product saved me alot of headache from taking apart the transmission, these ATF additives may cause issues on higher mileage transmission as the worn seals may be still sealing due to the varnishing/debris masking leaks. When knocking/freeing that varnishing up, the transmission may suffer from internal and or external leaks from seals/gaskets afterwards. With that being said, I was lucky that no further damages appeared after using this product. Happy with the result as of right now.
