A new, fun, and exciting habitat to watch everyone's favorite insect, Roly Polies. Roly Polies, Potato Bugs, Pill Bugs, or Sow Bugs, no matter what you call them, we all love them. Our new Roly Poly Vivarium has clear walls around the outside designed so you can watch these critters on top or under the chia working hard on the farm. All of Pocket Pets habitats are the ideas of an 11 year old “entomologist” and painted, assembled, and shipped by him and his friends in Columbus Ohio. All of the roly polys were alive when I got the except one but it also came with extra bugs. There was even small babies that came in the package. It is so fun to see the bugs climb up the chia. The roly polys are very cute and fun to play with. I absolutely loved this!!! It is the best thing that I have ever bought.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: We have a few bugs flying in there that look like gnats?  Small black bugs.  Any way to get rid of them without hurting the polies?**
A: If you have fed the rolies vegetables, I would remove as you can and the fruit flies will eventually go away if they have no food. The rolies will eat some of the gnat eggs that are still in there. When adding water, apply directly to the dirt with the water dropper. If the chia leaves are wet for too long, it will also attract gnats.

**Q: What can you feed the rollies other than the Chia?**
A: Any kind of fruit or veg really, they eat just about anything decaying. We found half a potato works best and lasts the longest for them

**Q: How long do the Rolly Pollys live?**
A: I think it depends on a lot of factors (feeding, temperature, etc...) but our group made it several months before we released them to live outside with the wild ones once the weather warmed up.

**Q: I want to put chia in a 10 gallon tank and house roly pollies, how high does it grow?**
A: It can grow 2-3 inches tall

I loved this farm. It is easy to take care of. The Chia seeds grow very quickly so you don't have to worry about them going hungry and you can give them fruits. My son absolutely loves his new roly poky farm that he got for his birthday! He was so excited to receive the live rolies in the mail today! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Do your research! Can be deceiving. Long term you have to spend much more $$ than you want.

My son had a Cub Scout activity to build a terrarium and to keep insects for a month so this satisfied both activities. Which was a plus. They came quick, alive with extras. They are interesting creatures and I loved them as a kid. I enjoy watching them walk around the terrarium. The complaints I have are: 1) The “free” Pillbugs it claims your get aren’t actually free. You have to mail back a card to get refunded back but you’re also having to pay $10 for shipping unless you spend $35 of the site - so really you’re not saving any money. 2) You aren’t allowed to pick you color, so my son ended up with a pink container. I ended up going out and buying a different one. Imagine my 10 year old showing off his terrarium to a bunch of other boys with a pink top. Not fun! 3) You get such a small amount of soil with the lot it barely filled the bottom of the carrier. So again, had to go out and buy more soil. 4) the traditional Rollie Pollies we are use to when we were kids, aren’t the “free” ones they give you. There are common pillbugs that don’t roll up into balls. The Rollies I was use to cost extra. I actually did research around the types they offered on their site and found this out myself. They don’t tell you this upfront. 5) After all the above, it’s hard to gift this to someone appropriately without warning them they will have to pay more to set it up or you set it all up for them and fork over the money ahead of time.
