I always worried with the heavier plates that somehow the adhesive would come off of other plate hangers i’ve used, but these work fabulous and I have been using them for a while now without any problems and, several of my plates are very heavy. It’s very important that you read the instructions and follow them to a T to ensure the hanger is securely fastened to the back of your plate. I will definitely be buying these again. Review: I can now hang antique plates without danger of edges getting damaged as I used to with those metal hangers. The instructions are simple and straight forward with fantastic results. Just make sure that the hanger is placed so the plate will hang from a hook where you want it before you smooth out the glue and let it dry. Once dry, the bond is very strong and will support your plate well, but is easily removed by following the instructions. Will the disc adhere? What is the weight limit?** A: The plate hanger won't adhere to the plate if it's sitting up on the ridges. You can get two plate hangers that will fit on either side of the ridges and use picture frame wire between them. 1.25 inch hanger will hold approximately 1/2 pound, and the others will hold a pound per inch of plate hanger. I hung three different plates, following all instructions to a "T". All three plates fell off the wall within a week. I wanted these discs to work so badly, so now I'll be giving them away at my next garage sale letting people know that they can try them for free, but I can't guarantee they'll work! I do hope you have better luck. **Q: Will they adhere to metal?** A: I'm not sure. I've always attached it to china. I would try it and give it 24 to dry thoroughly before hanging it.
