A few initial impressions: - The build is of good quality: yes it is plastic but of better grade, and overall fit and finish is excellent. - It is a simple solution, plug in the NP-F970 battery, the red light turns on, plug in the 12V cable to BMPCC, and it works properly. - The including clip enables kind of "fast release", while the tripod mounting is well designed with a tightening wheel so you don't have to rotate the entire plate. So far everything works out well for my BMPCC external power needs, at a very reasonable price.
