Launder regularly., in washing machine or dishwasher. After a year, I'm retiring 1 of them as it is just starting to develop holes, after 12 months use. They shrink slightly once wet But mop up very efficiently, super absorbent, and tough. They wring out to almost dry, and hung over tap will dry out very quickly. Also used slightly damp under mixing bowl to stop sliding. At this rate, my pack of 10 will last me a decade. And I will put retired ones into use outside for wiping flowerpots etc. Then shred into small pieces for compost bin. I am so pleased with these. They are manufactured in Sweden through an environmentally friendly process. The sponge cloths are made of 100 % natural material and are compostable. **Q: What are the measurements of each dishcloth? Most seem to be 8"x7", are these that size?** A: Yes, the measurement of these Swedish Wettex dishcloths is 8”x7” or 20x17 in centimeter. **Q: How thick are these? How many inches?** A: They're thin. I don't have one with me so I can't measure, but as I remember they're between 1/8 and 1/4" thick. They swell a small amount when wet. **Q: Are they fast absorbing like a bounty paper towel? Looking for something that won't leave traces of water behind after wiping a wet counter.** A: I love these "sponge-like" dishcloths. They are very popular in Sweden, where I first tried them. They do pick up fast and I don't think they leave traces of water unless they are over-saturated, you'd just have to squeeze all the water out and wipe again. They wash up nicely in the washing machine, I just lay them flat to dry. I’ll try and explain why *by Q***Z on 10 March 2023* Swedish dishcloths are sold on the basis that you’ll save on paper towels when mopping up. And if you’re a paper towel freak, you will. But to be fair, any washable cloth would do the same job. Are they absorbent? Yes - but so is any decent towel or tea towel. So neither of these selling points hit the spot for me. Nonetheless, I think these cloths are great. I’ll try to explain why. 1. They are simply pleasant to use. They feel good in the hand. If you want to wipe a surface, or wash a dish, you will happily pick up one of these. Maybe you’ll wipe more often, as I did - and your space will look better. 2. The cloths are equally useful around the house. You will find yourself earmarking some for non kitchen tasks. 3. Unlike some microfibre, this cloth does not catch on your skin. Win! 4. They can be folded and hung neatly over a rack, or sink tidy. No more ugly cloth eyesore by your sink. 5. Quick drying = better hygiene. 6. Easy to sanitise - in the dishwasher or washing machine 7. No waste. At all. You can find Swedish dishcloths with attractive artwork as well, if that’s your thing. But the Wettex is the original, and these particular cloths have a very good weight and feel for the price.
