The thermometer was slightly changed in the product, but each preform the same.

A: It's purpose is a smoker. Wouldn't think it would work well for your idea. I use it over the campfire and on the stove. 190-210 degrees

A: Assuming you keep it under 451 degrees fahrenheit, I don't see why not.
