A: No the cord has nothing to do with the battery. Did you put the battery in the correct place. There are You tube videos for additional instructions. Also for cleaning it. The machine will not run if the filter is soiled. Try looking at Youtube for additional assistance.

A: You can pull up You tube videos to assist with installing new batteries. Also make sure to change or clean the filter (Never put filter back in machine WET)

I needed a replacement battery for my V10 Animal. My battery wasn't completely dead but the charge only lasted a few minutes. This battery solved my problem. Was pretty easy to install (I'm not at all handy) and worked well after the first charge. I like that this comes with a filter replacement because the new filter made it work like it did when it came out of the box. I cleaned my filter regularly and thought that was enough, but I know now that they periodically need to be replaced. The new filter made as much of a difference to performance than the battery. Great combo, recommended.

This battery is heating up and not charging my Dyson properly. On a charge. It's lasting less than 10 minutes of non-continual use. It was delivered July 13 & I am just starting to use it now. My window to RETURN it was two days before posting this review. I did reach out to seller and if they send me a replacement, I will update my review. I'm also going to make a video of how long this battery lasts for others before you purchase this expensive battery that's defective and useless. For this price, it should be lasting at least a year.
