(I know--the books are so interesting, they still, at this age, like to hear the stories read to them. Well, that's not totally true. The 8th grader has been reading to himself since we finished the original 5-book series together a year ago.) We love them. Great messages. So interesting. Great plots and turns along the way. As a side note, I'm a child developmental psychologist. I think these are wonderful books for kids. Recommend them highly--to kids of all ages. The last one, a tale of witchcraft, about the Righteous Brotherhood, is almost too, eerily linked to political events of the day, that its wild to read a story with no reference to today's politics, but that communicates the same issues, concerns, and potential resolutions. Review: Amazing read - I have to admit this series of books are addictive. I sure hope they become either a show or movies. I'm 49 and I am extremely impressed by how the author keeps you curious and intrigued. (I know--the books are so interesting, they still, at this age, like to hear the stories read to them. Well, that's not totally true. She's obsessed and doesn't want to put it down. She hasn't been interested in screen time, or anything else since it arrived really. All she wants to do is sit and read this book, she's had it for 4 days and is nearly done with it. Great fantasy and story!
