It was used as the sealant on a new siding installation on my house 18 months ago. It is holding up perfectly.Now.. it is primarily oil based and very thick and sticky. If your caulking experience is mostly with acrylic or silicone products, it will take some practice to get this stuff on smoothly. Have patience, and do a couple of trials on scrap material or a hidden areaAlso, make sure you have a good quality caulk gun.
