I found this one with three tiers and as he grow (almost 80lbs now) I can pick him up by the strap and it disperses his weight evenly! If you're outdoors a lot or hiking with dogs then you'll be in situations where you need to use the strap to help them and this is perfect for that. Every time I pick it up off the shelf he runs over and sits down to have it put on him so it must not be too uncomfortable either. It's heavier than other harnesses but big dogs should be able to handle that anyways. I recommend this to all my friends with large dogs now! Back in the late 90's I worked with APBT's, the pulling harnesses back then were the best I have ever seen until now, this comes very close, better actually, for it's intended purpose.The primary function for this harness will be for hiking. We need a harness that will keep her secure when assisting/lifting her while traversing difficult technical terrain. We have had a few closer encounters with lesser harnesses and just do not want to take any more risk. I had looked at a few different ones here in comparison, the ruffwear flagline and ruffwear webmaster, as well as a few similiar knock-offs. I am very glad I made the decision to purchase this one. This harness provides a tremendous value for the cost, in comparison.Overall, the quality, detail and thought put into this harness is outstanding. Our girl really enjoys wearing it. I wanted a harness that I could lift her like a suitcase, to assist or carry her when needed, this does exactly that, while causing her no discomfort. We have a 45lb English Bull Terrier and ordered the medium. There are several adjustments on the harness. It takes a little time, but if you and your dog are patient and work through them all, it offers a highly customizable fit.Our dog is quite unique and gets lots of attention when she is out. The two days we have had this harness, it has received as much attention and compliments as she has, with many asking us where they can get one.It would be really great if this was offered in at least one "girly" color, such as a pastel pink or purple. People think our girl is a boy 9.9 times out of 10, so we try to keep her out of black/brown colors.
