When you push on it with your thumb, you are pressing the gas, causing the car to accelerate. It is tricky to see how this works until you have it in front of you, but it actually does work. Takes a little practice. **Q: Does it fit a Mitsubishi Lancer 2008? Specially the clamps for the gas pedal.** A: It should I've used mine on many different brand of autos including a 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer. I have not found any car mine won't fit. **Q: can you use crouse control** A: You should be able to.
