(1) The disc slide in-out is an excellent improvement over previous "drawer" model. Easier to load-upload. (2) What really impresses me is the precise control using the Fast-Forward or Fast-Rewind feature. I do a lot of fast-forward and fast-rewind when watching movies. The device follows my mouse selections instantly and with great precision. Older version was a little glitchy using this feature. I was reluctant to upgrade since old version worked OK, but after watching a couple of movies; the precision Fast-Forward and Fast-Rewind plus the more convenient disc loading justifies the cost of getting this new version. I highly recommend this disc player. Also comes with excellent compact case to carry when traveling.
