They are friction fit together but not under any significant pressure. I use them for my two Z axis screws on my 3D printer (motors at bottom) which are always under pressure from the X carriage and they have never separated after 1000+/- prints. **Q: these actually grip the lead screw right? because the stock spring style, my lead screw crawls up it inside, causing binding, due to poor QC thx** A: I had problem with mine slipping, No amount of tightening that screw would cause it to hold fast.
