Now featuring a nylon-reinforced cord. Review: Surprisingly Excellent Sound! - Short cord earbuds are very hard to find and I was in need after the left side of my Sony earbud took a dive. Found these which were relatively cheap and was shocked at the excellent sound quality. Clear and just enough base. They also are very good fit as the buds have a suction kind of a feel that blocks out exterior noise out well. The buds themselves are encased in a heavy metal case which does give a bit of heft to them but does not sacrifice comfort. The only minor gripe is the cord themselves. The cord looks durable with what appears to be intertwined rubber. The problem is the wires kind of stay up a bit rather than falling flat. Other than that, these are perfect for portable clip on players. Review: Decent for the price, good materials, a little awkward in the ears - I picked these up as an alternative to the standard single earbud that came with my clip-on bluetooth adapter for my work radio (the Icom VS-3). It works really well for that use case (which is pretty much the same as any audio device that attaches on or near the head). The materials seem pretty decent. The buds themselves are metal (I'm guessing probably zinc or aluminum) and they feel reasonably heavy and solid. The wire jacket is rubbery, and feels sturdy with nice strain reliefs at most attachment points on the cord. No serious complaints. The earbuds are a bit fiddly to place in my ears so they seal properly and don't come out, but it's not terrible. Routing the wires behind my ears helps. Sound is okay -- totally appropriate quality for the price. A couple things I've noticed: These have a characteristic I've encountered a few times in the many earbuds I've had over the years; it's not a dealbreaker but it's a little annoying. As you're fitting the earbuds, the diaphrams crackle really loudly as the air pressure in your ears moves them. Most earbuds I've used don't do this, and the noise makes these a little uncomfortable to insert, especially to get them seated securely. Also, the rubbery wire jacket is very springy, and the bends in the wire don't look like they'll ever relax on their own. I spent a few minutes with a heat gun to sort this out; now the wires are relaxed and straight. A hair dryer might work as well (but might not be quite hot enough to soften the jacket). ## Features - 15 inch long cords - Includes 3 sizes of rubber ear tips, to find your best fit - Designed for use with clip-on style music players, such as Shuffle, Sansa Clip, or Jabra Clipper - Gold-plated Stereo 3.5mm plug (same as 1/8-inch size plug) ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01JGTB1DU | | Additional Features | Cords are suitable for reaching the hat or collar., Shorter cord eliminates having to wrap up cords when attaching a music player to your collar, hat or helmet. | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Antenna Location | Cycling, Exercising, Running | | Audio Driver Type | Balanced Armature Driver | | Best Sellers Rank | #269,756 in Electronics ( See Top 100 in Electronics ) #10,740 in Earbud & In-Ear Headphones | | Brand | Far End Gear | | Brand Name | Far End Gear | | Built-In Media | Eartip | | Cable Features | Retractable | | Color | Black | | Compatible Devices | Clip-on Style Music Players | | Connectivity Technology | Wired | | Control Method | Remote | | Control Type | Media Control | | Controller Type | remote | | Customer Reviews | 4.0 out of 5 stars 141 Reviews | | Ear Placement | In Ear | | Earpiece Shape | Rounded tip | | Enclosure Material | Rubber | | Form Factor | In Ear | | Frequency Range | 20Hz - 20,000Hz | | Headphone Folding Features | In Ear | | Headphone Jack | 3.5 mm Jack | | Headphones Ear Placement | In Ear | | Impedance | 16 ohm | | Item Weight | 9.07 g | | Manufacturer | Far End Gear | | Model Name | Short Buds | | Model Number | ECSV2 | | Noise Control | Passive Noise Cancellation | | Number of Items | 1 | | Specific Uses For Product | Sports and Exercise | | Style Name | In Ear | | UPC | 854117003450 | | Warranty Description | 1 Year Manufacturer | | Water Resistance Level | Water Resistant | | Wireless Technology | Infrared | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Far End Gear - **Color:** Black - **Ear Placement:** In Ear - **Form Factor:** In Ear - **Impedance:** 16 Ohm ## Images ![Far End Gear Short Buds - 15" Cord Stereo Earbuds with Nylon-Reinforced Cords for Clip-on Music Players - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61FUb1dDc-L.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: does it have a mic?** A: The 22" version of this earphone comes with a microphone. https://www.amazon.com/Far-End-Gear-Earbuds-Armband/dp/B01JH14PIU **Q: how big is the driver?** A: The driver is 10mm in diameter. **Q: Are these compatible with the Oculus Quest?** A: They’re standard earbuds, just shorter. It was the only short cord earphones I could find on the entire internet. The cord is the perfect length for my t-Shirt pocket. I hate the 36-48-52 inch cords on the usual headphones of all types. The excessive cord creates a useless bundle. I also bought the ear locks to go with these. I highly recommend the total package. I found the fidelity of sound and the overall volume even at low setting to be excellent. I read other reviews which people were negative about the cord material as well as the sound quality. I rate these 100%. I would purchase these again and probably will when the time comes. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/33974015-far-end-gear-short-buds-15-cord-stereo-earbuds-nylon](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/33974015-far-end-gear-short-buds-15-cord-stereo-earbuds-nylon) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
