Review: Hard plastic - It is hard plastic sheet and not transparent too. If you are going to buy it to cut stencil by your self with stencil knife. Please don't go for it. Very difficult to cut stencils in this sheet by hand. May be by it is good for laser machine.
Review: Perfect for Hand-Cut Stencils - I can only speak to using these mylar sheets to cut stencils by hand with a scalpel. They worked well. 7.5 mil seems to be the right weight to minimize the number of passes required to cut through the plastic while maintaining enough strength to stand up to regular use. I was worried that the high-gloss finish would cause the scalpel to slip, but this didn't prove to be the the case. The product is competitively priced. I would buy these again.

A: I used in in my Accuquilt Studio, so my guess would be yes.

**Q: Is this food safe/grade?**
A: I don't believe it's marked as such. I'm a buyer not a seller of this product. However knowing that most CLEAR plastics do not contain the dreaded chemicals that everyone is over worried about might be helpful to educate yourself on that and know how to apply it to what you have in mind for possible uses of this. I can't imagine how it would work for food preparation or use these are such small sheets and would not make good cutting mats if that's what you are thinking. Imagine a mat made to be CUT for stencil designing isn't made to hold up to being chopped on for food prep. Check out the light weight cutting mats for that purpose which are harder to cut through and definitely food safe.

**Q: Can this be cut on a 20w diode laser like the ortur lm 2 pro? if not, do you know what material would work?**
A: I tried the Milky 7.5mil on my Ortur and it did not cut. It appears to be transparent to the diode laser.

It is hard plastic sheet and not transparent too. If you are going to buy it to cut stencil by your self with stencil knife. Please don't go for it. Very difficult to cut stencils in this sheet by hand. May be by it is good for laser machine.

I use these with my Cricut machine to make stencils for a gal that makes cookies. They work perfect and hold up to the spray/frostings she uses and cut well with my machine. Have purchased several times.
