**Q: Is this platen protector padded?**
A: No. If it was padded the heat would not go through well

**Q: Is there any reason you couldn’t use the upper platen cover on the lower? The lower is currently out of stock but I don’t want to buy another brand.**
A: They are the same. You can use them on top or bottom thats what i am doing.

**Q: Does this cover have a pad?**
A: No pad just a Teflon cover.
