## Overview

Penguin Pottery Premium Ceramic Wax Resist is a 16oz, white wax designed to create a clean barrier between clay and glaze. It burns off at low bisque firing temperatures, allowing potters to achieve precise, unglazed negative space designs and protect pot bottoms from unwanted glaze absorption. This latex-free resist slows drying where applied, enhancing glaze application control and delivering professional-quality ceramic finishes.

## Description

Review: Great for pottery - Best wax resist I’ve found so far, it goes on smoothly so you can draw neat lines and crisp edges, it doesn’t get lumpy or sticky. Shame it’s not coloured, that would make it beyond perfect 👌
Review: Great stuff - The best wax resist i have found yet. Others have been clumpy but this is almost clear and so easy to put on.

## Features

- Wax resist is a great aid to potters and ceramicists who want to keep their glazing neat and clean. Wax creates a barrier between the clay and the glaze so it's not absorbed.
- You can paint the bottoms to protect your pots from absorbing glaze, and you can also paint designs on your pieces to show off the unglazed clay with negative space.
- The wax will burn off at low temperature during the bisque firing process, revealing designs, base colors, or just unglazed pot underneath.
- The wax slows drying in the areas where it is applied.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: After you fire off the resist can you glaze that area**
A: Yes the wax burns off in the kiln at a fairly low temperature, you definitely can glaze where you waxed after it’s is fired off.

**Q: ¿Qué debo hacer si el wax resist se endureció en el envase? Se puede diluir con agua?**
A: El wacho que yo uso es líquido, con agua desmineralizda poco a poco puedes darle forma otra vez

**Q: Does this have alumina in it?**
A: No, it does not have alumina in it.

**Q: Can this wax resist be applied over UNFIRED glaze?
I want to protect the inside glaze of a vase from taking on the outside glaze when dipping**
A: Yes! Be sure that both the unfired glaze is dry and the wax is completely dry before dipping. You might need to wipe any drips of the new glaze away off the wax but it will make a great protective barrier for the glaze underneath.
