They have Installation videos but a quick YouTube search provides even better ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Besser als das Original *by C***K on 14 January 2019* Nachdem der rechte Frontscheinwerfer meines GTIs vermutlich durch einen Steinschlag Wasser gezogen hatte, musste was Neues her. Die Scheinwerfer hatten nun ca. 9 Jahre auf dem Buckel, deshalb wollte ich gleich beide (links und rechts) tauschen. Doch das Angebot des VW-Händlers für die originalen Standard-Halogen-Scheinwerfer war mir schlicht zu teuer. Günstige Dritthersteller Scheinwerfer kamen für mich nicht in Frage, da es da immer wieder Probleme mit der Qualität und letztlich auch mit der Optik gibt. Also machte ich mich auf die Suche und fand die OSRAM LEDriving Xenarc. Erst völlig angetan von der Optik, dem verhältnismäßig simplen Einbau (und Zulassungsfreiheit) bis hin zu der Tatsache, dass das Tagfahrlicht per LED und das Abblendlicht über Xenonbrenner geregelt ist. Dass die Blinker-Funktion einstellbar ist, ist noch ein Tüpfelchen auf dem i, allerdings habe ich bei mir die Standardeinstellung gelassen. Allerdings komme ich auch im eingebauten Zustand noch an den Knopf auf beiden Seiten, so dass ich noch umentscheiden könnte. Da die Scheinwerfer nicht über einen Einstellmotor verfügen, müssen sie ohnehin in einer Fachwerkstatt eingestellt werden. Deshalb habe ich bei meinem Stamm-VW-Händler einfach gefragt, ob sie mir die Scheinwerfer auch einbauen könnten, was problemlos möglich war. Insgesamt habe ich für den Einbau inkl. Kabelverlegung (es müssen noch Kabel von den Scheinwerfern zum Plus-Pol der Batterie verlegt werden) gerade mal 100 Euro gezahlt. Ein fairer Preis, wie ich finde. Das reine Einstellen hätte schon 30 Euro gekostet. Der Werkstattmeister hat mir dann noch erzählt, dass er bisher noch keine so hochwertigen Dritthersteller-Scheinwerfer gesehen hätte und dass diese den Wagen deutlich aufwerten. Beim Fahren merke ich, dass die Sicht bei Dunkelheit nun deutlich verbessert ist. Der Winkel der Scheinwerfer ist im Vergleich zu den Originalen etwas breiter und auch die kühlere Farbtemperatur tragen dazu bei. Das Tagfahrlicht ist auch deutlich heller und erlaubt noch besseres Gesehen-Werden. Ob man bei Ausfall eines Xenon-Brenners den Scheinwerfer ausbauen muss, weiß ich noch nicht. Allerdings kann das dann kaum teurer sein als der Einbau ansich. Und da die Xenon-Brenner angeblich länger halten sollen, bleibt abzuwarten, ob das ein Problem wird. Die OSRAM D8s-Brenner selbst sind für ca. 55 Euro pro Stück zu bekommen (Stand Januar 2019). Nun fehlen noch passende Rücklichter ;) Noch ein Hinweis auf die Zulassung: Die Scheinwerfer haben ein ECE-Zeichen. Damit sind sie nicht nur zulassungs- und eintragungsfrei, sondern sie dürfen meines Wissens nach nicht mal eingetragen werden und sind auch so völlig legal im Straßenverkehr einsetzbar. Leider hat OSRAM es versäumt einen Schrieb beizulegen, der auch einem Straßenpolizisten diesen Umstand beweisen kann. Ich hatte das Problem zwar bisher nicht, allerdings habe ich von Fällen gelesen, dass die Polizei sich bei einer Kontrolle nur schwer überzeugen ließ den Wagen nicht für eine Prüfung stillzulegen, nur weil entsprechende Dokumente fehlten. Ich hoffe also, dass - falls es mal soweit kommt - ich per Smartphone auf die Herstellerseite verweisen kann, wo entsprechende Information in der Produktbeschreibung zu finden ist.
