**Q: If I wire my four 100w panels in series which raises the output voltage of the panels past 12 volts (due to series) will this converter still work?**
A: I don't think this item will work with the solar panels. In the description, it talks about how the input needs to be constant, and over 10V. I hooked this up to my solar battery (200w 12v solar panel -> This boost converter to 28v output -> solar battery). it became cloudy, the panels were not outputting their normal voltage, and the boost converter suddenly spiked the voltage to 115V !!!! Totally destroyed my new solar battery. Please be careful! When it was cloudy, I measured the input as 6.23V... and the output from this boost converter was 114.9V. Electronic smoke is the worst smell...

**Q: How can i use this to power a cob led? to i adjust the voltage output only or voltage and current?**
A: This is a DC voltage only power supply. I only know of 'cob' LEDs as 120V Ac (screw into a light socket). If you are to power LED's with any power supply you must remember that LED's require a current limited power supply. You must set the current to the proper level and the voltage to the required voltage. With 12V in the lowest output for this power supply is 12V DC.and the highest output voltage is 80V DC. So this will not go to lower voltages (1.2V, 1.7V, 3.3V etc...). for LED's they would have to be in series to reach the voltage level of the output and the current level would have to be set for the operating current of the LED's used.

I have seen some tests that show you need to add a heat sink. But, I have found this works very well for me. The current control works much, much better than other buck converters I have tried. I have been converting current from 24 V 200 AH batteries to 32 V @ 7- 9 AH using 2 of these for over a year no problems.

I have two of these, each one capable of running and output 50V at 6A, 8ohms, 300W. Input, 32.5V at 10.5A. They setup nicely. It's best to setup the input voltage and input power capabilities first, (32.5v at 10.5a = 341 watts available), then set the output voltage with a voltmeter and the CV pot, with no load attached, then crank the CC pot down until the output voltage starts to drop. That means that you are running on Current Control. Then add the load in and with the load connected in, turn the CC pot up increasing the voltage to the previously set output voltage. That means that you have matched the output load to the output voltage and current of the converter. Ohms law, such as it is, example: 40v at 5 amps is a load of 8 ohms at 200W. If you want more current thru the load, raise the CV voltage on the output. If you want less current thru the load, lower the CV voltage on the output. The output power (wattage) is dependent on the input power (wattage) minus the efficiency. So 300W on the input at 90% efficiency will only give you 270 watts available on the output. If your load is 8 ohms, your voltage can only be a max of 46.5V at 5.8amps, 270W. You can never get more wattage out the back than the wattage you put in the front.
