And I'm also doing this for bird dog owners as a guy who has used many other types of collars like Garmin, SportDog, DT Systems, etc. This is probably the most efficient and easy to use collar I've messed with, and other products can't touch the sensitivity that comes with it. I always test the stim on myself just to feel what the dog will feel, and it's true, the stim is softer and not harsh like other collars. Being able to adjust the "bump" is huge, because (specifically if you're a bird dog owner) we all know chasing and other intense distractions take a special level of jump as opposed to basic training. And if your dog is chasing, or you need to adjust the level on the go, you can raise the level of stim while holding down the continuous. So having that ability is great. It is suggested to put it on in the morning and take it off before bed, not just put it on before/after walk or events with them especially when first training them with it. When I was training my dog I had a specific whistle which gave him about 3 seconds to respond before the vibration went off. Now when I make that sound he responds immediately without the need to send a signal. My hope is that in his head I was warning him of the sensation prior to it happening, not the one causing it. I still use his collar after a year but have only used the vibration a handful of times this last year—depending on the dog and trainer the collar might only need to be used temporarily. **Q: guys.. Im really keen to buy this product but I wanted to know if this can be used for a Golden Retriever dog (85lb)...** A: Yes, although described as a "mini" this e-collar will work for most dogs if used correctly. You might need to shave a small patch for the collar to make contact. If you haven't done so, please watch the leerburg videos on using the e-collar, particularly the one by Micheal Ellis. The dog needs to learn behavior that stops the stimulation. If introduced correctly, i.e., the dog learns that he has control of the stimulation, the e-collar works for most dogs. My dog is around 25 lbs and I cut about 10 inches off of the adjustable collar-almost enough to make another collar. I have only had to use the correction levels up to 26, so there are plenty of levels higher for those bigger or more stubborn dogs. I've been working with a dog trainer to help me give the correction at the right time and used a leash for the first 3 weeks. Using the leash helped me guide my dog into the preferred behavior immediately after the correction so she was not confused as to why she was just corrected. It has completely transformed my dog's behavior and I'm very pleased with the product. If this is your fist electronic collar please make sure you get some tips or work with a trainer. If you do not guide your dog into the behavior you want you will get a very anxious dog afraid to move or do anything. That was my only complaint with this product-in needed some tips for newbies like me. You will love your "new" dog! **Q: Does this system allow you to vibrate or shock both dogs at the same time?** A: This is not a shock collar. This collar is actually shock resistant. It is similar to a TENS unit to where it creates basically a muscle spasm. (purchased for a boykin spaniel) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by P***A on 21 April 2017* Today was my first day trying these out on my 13lb Spitz and 5lb Pomeranian. Lola my pom is a yapper, and Leo my Spitz is an alert dog so they were constantly barking at every sound they heard outside, every dog they passed, and every person that walked by. I could never open my patio door or take them to the park. I tested this on a low setting on my arm before attaching them to my dogs. I couldnt really feel anything at 9, but there was definitely a buzz on 12-13. I kept it on 12 for a bit to get them conditioned, and slowly increased it to an 18- where Im keeping it at for now. The point is to startle and distract them when barking and not hurt them, so i dont see a reason for going any higher; especially on small dogs like mine. Lola is stubborn and doesnt come when called, but after one zap, she comes the first time. To test/train them, I walked them both by all the apts with dogs (especially ones sitting out on the patio) to see if they'd bark, which of course they did. But one zap and that stopped. I then quickly told them QUIET and rewarded them with praise and a treat. After they got used to not barking, I even took them both off their leashes. Leo usually gets excited and runs off, but not this time! I called and zapped him when he didnt listen and he came running back and remained by my side (both of them) for the remainder of the walk. The device was even good for training them to leave something when they were eating/sniffing at something they wereng supposed to. Again, Id zap once and when they stopped, Id say LEAVE IT and praise them and give a treat. Id say our first go was a success and with consistent training, this will work like a charm. The only downside is maybe that the collar is a little heavy for small dogs.
