It barely covers the top of the mattress with the waterproof material. The skirt is made of some cottony cloth and doesn’t appear to be waterproof. Also the skirt has elastic but the fit is strangely loose and a bit oversized. So the protective part should be an inch or two larger and the skirt several inches smaller to be certain of protecting the mattress from moisture.
