I haven't used solar yet, but they are an easy plug-in and retain a charge for a whilr. The dual-use (flashlight/lantern) are great, so they can be adjusted to your need. They are lightweight so could easily be hung from something. Also, they do well at lighting up a room, as the lantern is bright.
