Bánh bao (literally "bun cake") is a Vietnamese bun based on the Cantonese da bao ( literally "big bun") brought to Vietnam by Cantonese immigrants. It is a ball-shaped bun containing pork or chicken meat, onions, eggs, mushrooms and vegetables, in Vietnamese cuisine. It often has sausage and a portion of a hard-boiled egg inside. Bánh bao are generally larger than baozi, and are filled with savory fillings, the most common being seasoned ground pork and quail egg. A vegetarian version of bánh bao also exists. Banh bao is a traditional Vietnamese rice cake which is made from glutinous rice, mung beans, pork and other ingredients. In the wrapping stage banh bao, one needs khuon banh bao so that banh bao can be wrapped in a better shape.

I purchased this utensil for making Vietnamese steam buns or known as banh bao. I really don't know how it would turn out because I haven't use this utensil as yet.
