Review: Pleased with my purchase - We rang in the new year with a slab leak on our hot water side... I live in Florida and while we rarely experience freezing tempratures this particular January the night time temps were getting into the twenties so the family wasn't relishing waking up at 5 AM to an ice cold shower, fortunately a couple years back we got to go on a mission trip to Honduras where we experienced "duchas" as they called them. Knowing insurance companies and how slow the repairs to the house were likely to be I researched where I could buy one of these right away and after looking at several models I settled on this one. Things I liked about this over the others: Pros 1. For the price point it's pretty well made 2. It has a good sized internal metal tank which allows for a little batch heating (cheaper units just let the water flow through a plastic housing amongst the electrics!) 3. It has electronic temprature controls. Cons My family has been using this for a month now and the only con I had is the thermister which regulates the temprature and prevents a thermal runaway was a bit fidgety and tended to cut the power right in the middle of your shower and hello 50 degree water! I solved it by just bypassing it, I think it might just be a cheap component and could be replaced by a better name brand one. I will say you definitely need a dedicated circuit to run even this lower power unit, when I first got it I wanted to test it and plugged it up with a 12ga drop cord, boy did that cord get hot! the next morning I was up in the attic pulling a 10/2 ga wire and dropping it down in the bathroom on a temporary outlet. In warmer climates like mine this unit does a great job of heating the water, it raised 60F water to 110F which is pretty decent! but you do have to slow down the water flow to achieve it, had I bought the bigger model I'm sure it would have had no problem heating the water with a decent flow but I chose this unit with the thought of using it later on once the house was fixed for an RV camp shower where I might not have access to 220v.
Review: Not super hot, but a spray that gets comfortably warm in about 5 seconds - Mine came with the wired plug ready to use. I hooked it up with a 9 ft awg 14 extension cord and swapped out the included shower head with a shower wand with a 10 ft stainless steel hose. I also added a shutoff valve at the wand for giving my baby a bath in the adjacent tub which doesn't have a shower head. I have not experienced any issue using a shutoff valve in case you're wondering if the heater element may be adversely affected by stoppage of water. I have used the shutoff probably 10 times over two months without issues. I switch on the water just about a 20 degree turn, not a trickle nor a strong blast, but a spray that gets comfortably warm in about 5 seconds. For perspective, it is now winter, 65 F in my house, and the city water is freezing cold. I also have a whole house gas tank heater that I leave on the lowest setting. This water heater does work when the water is at almost full blast, but you'll get cold water until your gas water heater kicks in. It's not strong enough to heat a high water flow. I can switch it on and off from the unit and notice the difference immediately. I think some of the complaints are due to a change in the weather thus affecting water temperature. I got it during the summer when it was in high 90s F and not as cold city water, and it worked quite well. Then I thought it failed a few months later, but then realized the water from the city got colder, resulting in more work for the heater. I adapted by turning on the water a little lower. Again, don't expect a strong shower. Of course you can splurge now and then and turn the water all the way up toward the end of your shower. By then the gas heated water will have kicked in and you can still enjoy that blissful sauna feeling. See my pictures of how I installed it and the spray level for warm water. I just bought a 2nd one for my other shower. Tldr: saves water, short wait for warm water if you don't mind not having the water at full blast.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: On another website, this product is sold for outside of the US usage only. Does it plug directly into an American plug?**
A: The plug on this is deceptive. It looks like a typical 110 American plug but this unit actually runs on 220. I wired it up right and it works great but you need to fix the internal leaks or it will flood the control board on the first use. See my review on fixing this design flaw.

**Q: They say not to use with an extension cord. Why not if it's the same size cord?**
A: Look. I have this device and I'm using it with an extension cord. It's the only possibility as there is no outlet for it here in my bathroom. The extension cord does get hot though so I would just be ware of the situation and watch closely for any heat-related damage. I haven't had any damage, however. Please use a heavy-duty extension cord.

**Q: Is it that there is no 5kw for the 110v?**
A: Yes, the good model runs on a 220 circuit. I just tapped into my line that runs the dryer. Dont try this unless you know what you are doing.

**Q: is it induction tecnology or comun resistance tecnology ?**
A: It is an induction technology, it depends on the water flow to activate.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Make sure to use a high efficiency shower head with unit.
*by A***R on September 20, 2019*

My water tank is out of commission and I needed a temporary fix for hot showers. This worked great, however, you have to use a high water efficiency showerhead for the unit to work properly. It comes with a standard showerhead and water wouldn't heat much. Once I installed the high efficiency head it gave me plenty of warm water. The high efficiency showerhead constricts amount of water passing thru giving the unit extra time to heat water. It still only ups the water temp by 10° or so. It's definitely better than an ice cold shower. The 220 volt version might put out greater heat if you need it for the longterm.
