I tried with & without, & the lid still leaks when using the cup.** A: Not sure, I don't put the lid in the freezer. Maybe the rubber seal got damaged when the lid froze. Had it upside down in the freezer all night as told to on the instructions and yet after taking it out at 7.30 to go to work by 10 the drink is tepid at best.
