Due to the fact the Moen has a subscription model in place for access to all functions. For them to release a public API would defeat their overall disappointing business model with this device. It required some modification of the waterline coming through our foundation. Since purchase (over a year ago) it has shut off our water several times when taps were left running, during a toilet valve failure, and a leak in the auto sprinkler system. It has also turned the water off in situations like running a power washer on the driveway. But it sends a message before shutting off the water, so you have time to stop it. And this gives you the comfort of knowing that it's doing its job.
