No noticeable loss in signal. Removing the OEM whip antennas and installing these was a very quick, simple job on my 2008 Harley Ultra. I had read in the reviews that these antennas didn't screw down as far, leaving visible threads. I had the same issue. The manufacturer sent two plastic shims with each antenna, but it still wasn't enough, and the quality of these shims left a lot to be desired. I ended up going to the hardware store and purchasing a pair of chrome sleeves, which you can see in the picture.The inner diameter of these sleeves were too large for the studs. I shimmed them with Teflon plumbing tape to ensure a tight fit between the antenna studs and the chrome sleeves. After that, I screwed the antennas onto the antenna studs, using blue lock-tite; I'd read other reviews that indicated that lock-tite is needed to ensure that the antennas don't fall off due to the vibration of the bike, so I took their advice. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good signal. Surprising value *by C***T on Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2012* I broke the CB antenna on my Ultra Classic. These were cheap, and short enough to fit under the bike cover without having to cut holes for the really tall antennas the bike came with.I thought I might not get much CB signal. The signal is excellent. The FM signal is excellent. The only drawback is I had to use an included adapter to get it to screw on the the post mounted to my trunk. The adapter is narrow and doesn't make for a nice, finished look.Other than that,great price, great signal. Co pact and flexible.Update: use loc-tite on the threads. I've lost two of these when they unscrewed and fell off during a fairly long ride. I know that because both times I noticed it loose and hand tightened it as hard as I could at a gas stop, and it was gone at the next gas stop. Finally I learned my lesson and added loc-tite to the threads. ### ⭐⭐ Meh...I like the look and the price but installation was not seamless and reception is worse. *by D***S on Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2014* I would rather have given this product 2.5 stars because I like the look and the price but installation was not seamless and reception is worse.I did have trouble installing on my Road Glide Ultra much like many people on this thread. I ended up shortening the threaded studs by about 1/8 " on the tour pack to get the antennas to seat properly with enough threads to hold tight. This solution worked and it looks great but it compensates for bad design by the manufacture.Some have commented that they notice no difference in reception. Not true in my case. There is definitely a drop in reception on FM, weather and how far away from my city I can go before I start getting loss of signal.
