It was reaching for something to climb. I purchase a pair of these cages and put one together. Stuck it into the pot and draped the vine over a couple of the rings. The vine immediately took to it. The clips that hold the rods to the ring do release pretty easily; but otherwise this is working well. The bonus is if I need to increase the height, I can use parts from the 2nd kit; though stability might be an issue. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy but serviceable. Will distort but won't break! *by P***U on Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2023* I used this trellis to grow some watermelons in 5 gallon buckets.This trellis is probably most appropriate for flowers or tomatoes. It's all plastic aside from the connection points, so it cannot take much force in any direction without distorting. After storms with high winds it ended up kind of leaned over. That all being said, it did not literally break apart or fall over, so the concern here is mainly aesthetic. Use an all-metal trellis if you care.Assembling it is a bit tricky. The vertical segments detach with light tension, so carry from the bottom segments or use glue. The hoops come straight and are stiff, and the vertical segments don't like to be used to force the hoops into circles. The hoops clip onto the vertical segments, so they can go on at any height.We used this trellis to grow some watermelons in 5-gallon buckets. Watermelons are heavy, and the trellis barely handled them; the weight literally bends the plastic. I had to use string as a sort of guy-wire to keep it from falling over. To its credit, the trellis did not fall apart, and the distortion was temporary.
