Capable of retaining everything including phone, ok and voice buttons. Tips for unlisted radios

*by T***N on Reviewed in the United States on 22 October 2022*

Product does exactly as advertised and will allow aftermarket stereo to interface with vehicle as well as retaining all steering wheel controls INCLUDING the phone, ok, and voice buttons.-Phone, ok and voice steering wheel buttons-Anyone with a sync system will have to do a bit more work to get the phone, ok and voice buttons to work but it is possible. The instructions go over this in more detail but long story short if your vehicle was equiped with the SYNC system then the phone, ok and voice buttons will not work even when connecting the interface correctly, the rest of the steering wheel buttons will work no issue. To get the phone, ok and voice buttons to work you have to remove the cover around the steering wheel and find the connector that looks like the one shown in the instructions. You are then going to look for the blue/orange and purple/white wires and those are the ones you want to cut, depending on the vehicle they will be located at different spots in the harness, the instructions mention this as well. Make sure to give yourself a sizeable amount of length from the steering wheel before you cut so you have enough wire to work with, you will probably have to unwrap or cut the tape around the wire harness a bit to actually see the wires. After the wires are cut and visable you will need some car wire and you want to connect the steering wheel side of each of the two wires to a new line of wire for each of them, you want to give yourself some length on these new wires as they have to go from your steering wheel column all the way to behind the dash and to the radio/Pac device. Once you have the new wires from the steering wheel harness to the pac device you want to connect the wire from the blue/orange of thesteering wheel harnesss to the green/white of the pac device harness, this is pin 4 of the pac device. You want to connect the wire from the white/purple of the steering wheel harness to the black wire on the pac harness, this is pin 11 of the pack harness. After all those wires are connected the phone, ok and voice buttons that didn't work before will now work and can be completely remapped to whatever you want using the pac interface and or the stereo's own remapping. If you want the top data screen that's built in on most Ford vehicles to display the correct commands when you press them you will have to custom reprogram the controls on the pac unit itself now that you have access to the new buttons. There's a little light on the Pac device that flashed when a steering wheel button is pressed, this is your first indicator to show you that you wired everything up correctly and the buttons work now. The step about needing to run new wires is the one thing lacking in the instructions for the Pac device.-Boss stereo's-Boss stereo's are not listed on the number radial that you have to set for whatever stereo you have. If you have a Boss stereo you want to set the radial to #7, this is the one that communicates with Boss units. Some Boss units you may be able to custom map the settings in the stereo itself reguadless of what the radial is set too but a lot of Boss units thr custom SWC remapping doesn't actually work at all.-Atoto-Atoto stereos are also unlisted on the pac device and with Atoto they actually rely on remapping in stereo itself anyways which is nice because it means it doesn't matter what number the Pac dial is set to the Atoto will be able to read it and you can program the buttons to whatever you want using the Atoto swc button mapping. If you want the correct button commands to display when you press them on the second data screen present in most ford vehicles then will need to custom program the buttons in the Pac device as well. The instructions on how to custom program the pac controls is detailed pretty well in the instructions and is actually really easy once you understand it.Hope this helps anyone trying figure this out 👍

Worked for my Ford w/upgraded Sony system

*by T***Z on Reviewed in the United States on 23 January 2023*

I purchased an android head unit for a 2010 Ford Fusion with the upgraded Sony sound system and factory amplified. The manufacturer claimed that the canbus unit they included would work on any 2010 Ford Fusion, but sadly their canbus unit didn't work with the factory upgraded Sony speakers/amplifier. In an effort to get the unit working, I bought this, and had to figure out the wiring (as the android unit had no labels on its wiring harness), but once I got it all wired up, this unit enabled the android head unit to work with the Sony speakers and factory amplifier.

Takes guesswork out on installs and keeps most your features

*by M*** on Reviewed in the United States on 27 December 2022*

Used this to install an Eonon stereo in my 2012 F150. Instructions were pretty clear and straightforward. my truck had SYNC so I did lose most of the features but the unit I installed more than makes up for it. Only thing with Eonon and most android stereos are steering wheel controls can be finicky to setup. I spent about 45 mins trying to get it to work and all set and done only the volume buttons work. Not huge deal but an FYI to everyone.
