I bought it for my daughter to use at college, but honestly, I don't even know if it will be usable. It does not fold up well at all. When folded back up you can BARELY get the Velcro strap back around it to hold it closed. I'm sure it will not be long before that rips off, because it has to be pulled so hard. It comes with a cute sleeve to hold the umbrella when not in use, but you will literally never be able to use this once you have opened the umbella, because it will be about 3-4 times too big for it. The umbrella's folding design is to blame. Like I said, I have NEVER seen an umbella designed in this way. I don't think I can describe it other than to say it seems to have an extra folding joint in the metal braces, and that joint folds backwards. It makes it extremely hard to open up quickly, because you have to shake and manually straighten each joint. NOT what you want to have to do when it raining out! Other than all that, it's a very cute umbrella and seems to be high quality material, so it's really a shame that it is designed so poorly. I did not notice a chemical smell as stated in other reviews but as in other reviews once opened it does not fit back into the sleeve well. I got it once but then ripped the seams on the sleeve.
