All needles are smooth, metal attachment feels sturdy (I have a set of Knit Picks, first interchangeables I ever tried, that the metal portion came off of several needles, so I never bought that brand again).One needle has an area where the pigment didn't seem to "take" (size 15 needle, see picture). ALL needles tips are dark! Why? There's no reason I can think of for every tip being discolored. Minus a star, because at around $100, this should be perfect!All needles and cables attach easily, with smooth connection; no snag potential during fit test.Cables are different from what I'm used to (I use mainly Knitters Pride & Chiao Goo red lace), and there's a looseness where the cable goes into the metal connector, but it doesn't pop off. I suspect this feature may help to keep the project from improperly twisting during knitting, but I'll have to test that out.The cables are also an odd texture, kind of.... "jelly." Very flexible, but seems to be sturdy. It's going to be interesting to try them.Case exterior feels like a microfiber "leather alternative." It's soft & not unpleasant (I'm very sensitive to textures). Magnetic snap keeps the case closed. Open the snap, and there's a little zippered pocket for keeping cables, maybe some stitch markers, the tightening pins, cable connectors, cables caps. Open the case further, there's a magnetic flap pocket, slightly expandable and larger than the zippered pocket. I put the cables in this section after fit testing them.The elastic band holds each pair separate from another, and is appropriately tight (elastic wears & stretches, so I'm glad it's tight). This section that holds the needles is a "flap," with 2 strips of Velcro on the back; I'm not totally certain of the purpose for this, so I'll explore it later.That's it. There's no other pockets or anything, so it takes up minimal space. That makes it great for "grab & go" with whatever project bag.I want to note I would have preferred to get the blue set, because I'm not a big fan of pinks, but the same set in blue was $40 more! Why such a price difference when the only difference between the sets is the color??? Please note the pictures I provided don't show accurate color! It's nighttime and dim, yellowed lighting. The real color matches photos provided by seller. I just wanted to show the dark tips and general fit of the set. I'll provide better pics with update.I'll update after using, but there's my First Impression of Lykke, a brand I've never tried but I've heard people rave about it. The pastel pink beautifully takes on the natural wood tones.I've used several brands of wood needles trying to find a favorite to invest in a full interchangeable set. And these are it! I got the 4" needles and will definitely be getting the short set now. They are smooth and gripp. They are less grippy than raw bamboo but not not as smooth as dreamz. I really like the texture.The cords really surprised me. I'm totally in love with the Chiaogoo red cable cords, so I assumed this would be where i compromised for the pink color. But I'm actually really enjoying these cords. They aren't sticky or stiff.
