Flawless device with a beautiful screen!
This thing is seriously the coolest thing I've owned in years. I am not saying this lightly. Its rare for new tech to surprise me because ive pretty much seen it all. But just the form factor and everything this offers makes it super appealing to any retro gamer. This device plays literally anything up to a PS1 without a single issue. I installed ArkOS on mine which I highly recommend you do as the built in operating system is not great. But luckily there is a fantastic community of people who write custom firmware for nearly all anbernic devices.I've thrown everything at this thing and have yet to find a fault. It's literally a perfect device as long as you stick with PS1 and lower. It can run a few psp games and does very well with DS emulation. But anything higher will not run. This device feels and looks just like the original Gameboy and there is an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia when using this device that you have to experience in person to understand. I feel like I'm back in the early 2000's playing my Gameboy color again. It's such a good feeling.Take it from an old school gamer and a tech enthusiast thing is just super awesome and worth every penny. I mainly play mame games on it and it's just beautiful. The screen is superb and super sharp even at a 640x480p resolution. Don't let the low resolution scare you I promise it's absolutely not an issue at all and every game I played was beautiful on this display. Besides the older games never had hd resolution so the scaling is pretty much 1:1 to what it was originally.Battery life was as advertised. If I stick with 2D side scrollers I could easily get 7 solid hours of gameplay and 5-6 hours with 3D titles.Installing another OS on this thing is a breeze just go to YouTube and look at RetroGameCorps videos on how to install it on your specific device. It takes less than 15 minutes.Sound: sound is only mono but it's really loud. So loud in fact that I had to turn it down on some games. So there is going to be no issues hearing your game in a noisy room. It also has a headphone jack too if you want to use headphones. Sound reproduction is flawless as well. No weird glitches or incorrect audio processing. Remember that RetroArch is the backend for what runs on the OS and you can change cores at will.Final thoughts: just buy it!!! It's awesome. Just remember to install ArkOS and you are pretty much set.

Great overall retro handheld
Overall it's a great little handheld, as someone new to the retro gaming scene I'd done a fair amount of research and saw the RG351V often recommended as one of the best vertical handhelds, and after having it for a couple weeks I'm really impressed by the device. New firmware was super easy to install, and performance up to Nintendo 64 era is generally excellent. I've mostly used it for playing Pokemon ROM hacks and I've had very few software issues so far, using Amberelec for the firmware. The screen is surprisingly clear and vibrant with good brightness range. It's got a fairly comfortable grip, though the shoulder buttons can be a little awkward to use if you have bigger hands. The speaker is about what you'd expect, small and fairly tin-ey but perfectly acceptable for Gameboy games. Buttons give great feedback and feel solid without being overly clicky. The battery life isn't amazing, but depending on what you're playing you can probably squeeze out 4-5 hours of solid gameplay. Overall it's a great device, I've been playing it nonstop since I bought it and would highly recommend to anyone on the fence about it.

Awesome little device
This product is really impressive. Playing Mario 64 without a hitch. I didn't even have to switch firmware. Just download the rom and throw it in the appropriate file. Some games can be laggy, not sure why. The larger more graphic heavy games like Zelda 64 or Sonic on Dreamcast. But the fact these play at all is amazing. Most games are flawless and the controls are tight and quality. A great product! If this gets a faster processor or ram, or whatever will speed up those laggy moments, this game player will take the world and a lot of people will want them. I could market these to thousands of people I know. I'm thinking to buy the product out and do just this. It's that good!!

Awesome handheld once you get past the quirks
This thing is REALLY cool! The Operating System isn't the easiest to navigate. Not intuitive at all. But there are tons of videos on YouTube to teach you all you need to know. I'd like to upgrade it to a different OS but I've added some games manually to the stock card, so I'm cool for the time being. The screen on this thing is magnificent. The controls are great. There are TONS of games but I was disappointed that no Mario games were included. Not a big deal since I've figured out how to add them. I've added various Mario games and Tetris. You can find ROMs online. Then just take out the games MicroSD card, put it into your card reader, plug into your PC and then just drag and drop the games you downloaded onto your PC into the correct game platform folder on the SD card.If you order this, the first thing I'd do as soon as it arrives is copy the MicroSD cards to your PC. The cards that came with it seem generic, so copy them in case they fail. For the price of this product, I think it should have come with a better OS and a better selection of games. But I'm having fun with it.

Works great
Works well for my uses. 2D stuff is obviously easier for it to handle than 3D so have realistic expectations there. If the unit arrives with a greyed out screen turn it on full brightness and leave it on the default firmware's menu screen for about 15-20 or so minutes, then try wiping the screen with a large blanket. Static electricity apparently messes with the electronics when it sits unused for a time and touching it directly with your fingers (such as when applying the screen protector) can make the effect worse. Very strange, I thought I would have to return mine but after a day of use the issue went away. Battery lasts way way longer than I thought.
