They set easily in all but the hardest ground, stay put after multiple hits and hold up for as long as I've had them and used them not just for for my own practice but shared them for practice targets at matches where they got pounded by more rounds than I would have hit them with in years of use. I did shoot Mobil1 into the moving parts. But no maintenance other than that. I compete in Small Bore Silhouette out to 200 yds with a .22LR single shot rifle. I set up a large blank sheet of paper behind the swingers so i can see my misses and make minute of angle adjustments. Form this i can learn what adjustments (more or less) are needed in match conditions. I'n not very good yet, but i'm learning. These targets allow me to speed-up the learning process. With such a small target and such a small caliber it all becomes a wind reading game.
