I spray painted the front edge of the aluminum to match the ceiling. Options: *Shoe Moulding in front of metal channel. *a piece of matching contact paper along the front edge. More Options: Run the LEDs on the ceiling, and attach a flat piece of Shoe Moulding or baseboard in front of them like a valence. **Q: Does this model support the light restore settings which will restore the light to its previous power state if a power outage occurs?** A: Mine did after a hurricane. **Q: Will there be an update to allow Lifx lights to work with a router that combines 5 and 2.4? Trying to hook to a new router is impossible.** A: What I did was have both 5 and 2.4 set up, and renamed 2.4 what I wanted my combined network to be. Also sad because I thought the lights were great. Clean white and brilliant colors. Mycroft recommended LIFX, so I took a gamble and bought a couple to try out. LIFX white makes the competitor's white look dirty... Brightness range exceeds anything else I have seen and the colors are stunning. While I had various issues with connectivity and the like, the new owner (FEIT) has essentially fixed every issue I have been having. My only concern is with folks reporting that a percentage of the bulbs die prematurely, especially given the cost, but so far no issues.
