Review: Better than 970 Evo and cheaper - before I bought an NVME SSD from sabrent from desertcart to install on my gaming laptop. it turns out the read speed was in the 2000 but the write was in the 150-500 range. maybe it was defective but with this. no issues at all read and write speed both are above 2000 and stays above even during heavy usage. it doesn't have the EVO or PRO branding on it but its just for show. because i get great speed and its reliable too. i just wish they had the 2TB option but other than that its great. Review: Samsung rocks..... For now. - This M.2SSD rocks... Works perfectly and very effective. This is my replacement to the Kingston 2000 I bought 3 years ago. Don't know why I shifted to Kingston, turned out to be my greatest mistake because I buy samsung eer'thing. Looks like I'm selling my: Lenovo 330s RAM 8GB M.2SSD 500GB HDD 1TB in the next 5 years.... Perhaps never selling it altogether. Also, speed is good. I recommend this drive again and again. ## Features - MZ-V8V500BW - Smart and powerful upgrade: NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD for gaming and demanding applications. - Full performance: Up to 5.5 times faster than SATA SSDs with read / write speeds of up to 3,100 / 2,600 MB/s (500 GB variant). - Durable and Reliabe: Thanks to the reliable thermal control and Smart thermal solutions to protect against overheating and up to 300 TBW (terabytes of written). - Storage capacity of up to 1 TB in the compact M.2 form factor (2280), suitable for high-performance PCs and ultrabooks. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B08THW4S3T | | Additional Features | Portable | | Best Sellers Rank | #22,206 in Computers ( See Top 100 in Computers ) #184 in Internal Solid State Drives | | Brand | Samsung | | Built-In Media | Samsung Memory MZ-V8V1T0 980 SSD Internal 500GB, PCIe NVMe M.2 | | Cache Memory Installed Size | 122 | | Color | black | | Compatible Devices | Desktop, Laptop | | Compatible Video Game Console Models | Sony PlayStation 5 | | Connectivity Technology | PCIe 3.0 | | Connectivity technology | PCIe 3.0 | | Customer Package Type | FFP | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 23,478 Reviews | | Data Transfer Rate | 3100 Megabits Per Second | | Digital Storage Capacity | 500 GB | | Digital storage capacity | 500 GB | | Enclosure Material | abs | | Form Factor | compact | | Global Trade Identification Number | 08806090572227 | | Hard Disk Description | Solid State Hard Drive (M.2, 2280, PCIe 3.0, up to 3100 Mbps) | | Hard Disk Form Factor | 2.5 Centimeters | | Hard Disk Interface | NVMe | | Hard Disk Rotational Speed | 1 | | Hard disk form factor | 2.5 Centimeters | | Hard disk interface | NVMe | | Hard-Drive Size | 500 GB | | Hardware Connectivity | PCI Express 3.0 | | Hardware Platform | Mac, PC | | Installation Type | Internal Hard Drive | | Item Dimensions L x W x Thickness | 8L x 2.2W x 0.2Th centimeters | | Item Weight | 8 Grams | | Manufacturer | Samsung | | Media Speed | 2600 | | Mfr Part Number | MZ-V8V500BW | | Model Name | 980 | | Model Number | MZ-V8V500BW | | Number of Items | 1 | | Read Speed | 3100 Megabytes Per Second | | Special features | Portable | | Specific Uses For Product | Gaming | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 1 year manufacturer | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Samsung - **Colour:** black - **Compatible devices:** Desktop, Laptop - **Connectivity technology:** PCIe 3.0 - **Digital storage capacity:** 500 GB - **Hard disk description:** Solid State Hard Drive (M.2, 2280, PCIe 3.0, up to 3100 Mbps) - **Hard disk form factor:** 2.5 Centimeters - **Hard disk interface:** NVMe - **Installation type:** Internal Hard Drive - **Special features:** Portable ## Images ![SSD 980 NVMe M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 VNAND MLC 500GB - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41obSnkSzbL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is this compatible with dell xps?** A: Yes **Q: what is the life expectancy? and is it reliable to put my laptop data in as my laptop is running out of 500 small sized nvme m.2** A: It will be reliable, life expectancy for normal usage of ssd is almost 10 years. **Q: Does the screw come with the SSD?** A: No. **Q: Is it compatible for macbook air a1466 (2015)?** A: No ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better than 970 Evo and cheaper *by H***A on 20 October 2021* before I bought an NVME SSD from sabrent from amazon to install on my gaming laptop. it turns out the read speed was in the 2000 but the write was in the 150-500 range. maybe it was defective but with this. no issues at all read and write speed both are above 2000 and stays above even during heavy usage. it doesn't have the EVO or PRO branding on it but its just for show. because i get great speed and its reliable too. i just wish they had the 2TB option but other than that its great. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Samsung rocks.....
