Both the upper and the lower pulley are the exact same size and same part number. As you can see from the photo the new pulley is slightly narrower but the exact same diameter. Was a non-issue. the belt sits perfectly on the new pulley. Also note you'll have to remove the metal spacer that comes in the new pulley in order to install these. You can see the spacer in my hand and one of the photos. it just comes right out no problem. You cannot go wrong with dorman aftermarket parts. This is an excellent value and an excellent part. Highly recommend these as well as the dorman line of aftermarket parts! Old one is about 3” diameter. What is the diameter on this one. Will it fit thanks.** A: Sara, the best answer I can give you is to take all the belts off and replace at the same time as the idling pulley. Then you have the correct parts and only do the job once and match the new parts with the old parts, width, length, rib numbers etc. **Q: Will this work for a 98 Dakota 2.5 4cyl** A: Sorry I really do not know, I used it on a 2002 TOWN AND COUNTRY minivan 3.8 engine. **Q: Looking for one pulley for the serpentine belt for Chevy Equinox 2005 - need the all metal and smooth one. I own 3 different Ford F150 trucks, all with the 5.4L so this is based on my own uses for these Idler Pulleys, very easy to change and they are high quality as far a manufacturer specs, Dorman makes several components for OEM applications. Quality is 10 / 10, listing description is horrendous, luckily I read someone elses reviews to know I needed the 409-602 by Dorman to replace my Idler Pulleys on the Driver & Passenger sides of my oldest truck (2008).
