A: No, it needs to be fully charged.

A: Yes, you have to hold the button down for it to chop or pulse ie work, Charge - um? 3/4 times use then it needs charging. It's my 2nd one and so much more convenient than getting the food processor out.

A: China.

**Q: Can it be used to mash potatoes**
A: Cooked potato's maybe but if uncooked u must chop in small pices and more than one won't fit in at one time, this chopper it's very small
