I've seen several reviews complaining about the noise coming from this fan cooled charger. I had it sitting beside me at work and could barely hear it. I also purchased 2 - 9AH Flexvolt batteries at the same time. All of the batteries arrived with 1 of the 3 bars showing the current state of charge. I put the 6ah battery on the DCB115, 4 amp charger, one 9ah battery on the DCB1106 6 amp charger, and one 9ah battery on the fan cooled DCB118 8 amp charger. The following charge times, till full, were observed:83 minutes for the 6ah battery with the DCB115 4 amp charger = 13.83 minutes of charging for each ah80 minutes for the 9ah battery with the DCB1106 6 amp charger = 8.88 minutes of charging for each ah59 minutes for the 9AH battery with the DCB 118 8 amp fan cooled charger = 6.55 minutes of charging for each ahObviously these times would be extended should the batteries be drawn down to 0 bars of charge instead of the 1 bar that I started with. But you get the point. The 115 and 1106 chargers will charge all 20V max, 12V max, and Flexvolt batteries. The 118 charger will NOT charge 12V batteries. This DCB118 charger is starting to be included in some tool kits. Look for it.
