If it is a plain sidewalk it would work. **Q: What is the difference in the ripster versus the rip stick mini.** A: The full size ripstick has a bar between the two parts that makes it longer. The smaller size is easier to manipulate for kids and adults, I think. With the longer full size ripstick you just need to be a little taller with a wider stance. **Q: Is this an appropriate gift for a 6 year old? My son wants this for Christmas, but we will both be devastated if he winds up with something that he can't handle...** A: My 9 year old grandson got one for christmas last year. In Jan or Feb his 6 year old sister asked if I would buy her one because he wouldn't share it with her and she further said that if the other boys in the neighborhood were out she never got a turn. I ordered one for her and she has no problem riding it inside and out. They seem to love the ripstick and have left the skateboard in the dust. You'd be surprised how good these small children in the neighborhood are on them. Or is it just me. My grandchildren all had the skut or tippee bike and then rode 2 wheel bikes at age 3 - the skut bike was great training for balance. This same family has a now 4 year old who balances on the ripstick but I haven't seen her ride it. The older two chase each other around on them. They seem to propel them by manuevering their feet, I don't ever see them push with one foot. They're all over the neighorhood - kids and ripsticks. Très satisfaite de mon achat. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My son loves it. *by Z***Y on 9 November 2024* I almost broke my tailbone trying it out...and I used to skate. So it was a bit humbling. But get some speed and carve into it and it w9rks. This is sized for a kid and it was for my son and he's already a wiz at it. Not the most efficient way to ride, but it is very fun and you can carve almost like a snowboard, so that's a good time. Just know there is a learning curve, so don't give up on hour one.
