Rear shocks include a stainless steel nylon lock nut and just the shock. You have to remove the retaining fixture from the old rear shock to bolt the shock to the frame. I have an air impact wrench which I used to remove the nut from the top of the old shock. Instructions are lacking on this point. You might think you have the wrong shock when first comparing old and new shock. I did a lot of research before purchasing the TRQ strut and shock absorber kit. I looked for KYB initially but they do not make shocks and struts for the Equinox. I have used Monroe in the past also. I decided to purchase the TRQ kit which arrived 2 days after order placed. My wife texted me this morning that the smooth ride had returned to our Equinox. She is the primary driver of the vehicle. There are a number of negative reviews and I must say that I am happy with the purchase. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fit perfectly. Easy to install after watching TRQ install video on youtube *by M***T on January 10, 2025* The shocks seem well made and were heavier and more robust than the original. The struts were also solidly constructed. Shocks and struts fit perfectly and it took me about 3 hours to replace all 4 components.Getting the 2 bolt pins out was the hardest part, the video makes it look easy but those things are stuck in there good.
