So it DOES feel solid in a way that most sleepers aren't used to, but the stabilization is SO comfortable. I've even noticed that because I have such solid support, I move less in my sleep, contributing to the restfulness. If you have neck or joint pain, this is absolutely worth it. It definitely has an earthy smell to it, which I don’t mind at all, my wife personally doesn’t like it, but I think it smells like I am out camping or something. It holds shape and supports my neck really well, and without a doubt completely outperforms my $30 target pillow I've had for some time. I ordered more filling for it but I honestly think the amount they send in the pillow is already really nice. The cotton is soft and it has complete control over thinness or thickness depending on how much you remove or add, and it looks really good in my opinion. It doesn't get too hot and I see good versatility in it for any sleep position.
