I wore it by itself or under a hooded coat or sweatshirt and didn't feel like it was too bulky either. very comfy and I was able to breathe a LOT easier after I got it than I was before I got it, so if you have respritory issues and deal with cold winters, this might be something to consider trying if warm air is easier for you to breathe. Review: I don't think you get to ask for perfect. - I gave it four stars because it is warm and it covers the nose without me having to worry about it. However, I'm not a fan of the neck length.
