Its the same smell you get, when you just leave the barber shop. Its practically the same smell as the Pinaud Clubman Talc. **Q: How does this compare to Vitalis as far as the hold is concerned?** A: I would say this doesn't have 'hold'. It can help keep hairs from loosening and separating, but it won't keep hair in a shape, or control a cowlick. Vitalis would do this to a degree, without becoming waxy or oily. But with white hair, Vitalis made my hair look green or yellow. Now I use Vo5 for white hair (it's blue) and that does very well. **Q: Can this be used with other hair product like gel or pomade?
