I washed it in warm water with my sheets and dried at low temperature. It dried quickly because it's mostly plastic. It doesn't make any noise (just a slippery kind of sound and feeling, which is a quality I like in my sheets). I couldn't be happier with the quality, performance or PRICE of this VERY important item. Now I sleep with complete peace of mind. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Purchased to protect new mattress from dog mistakes *by N***E on April 5, 2019* The mattress protector was a lot thinner than anticipated. I am not able to rate the features of water resistance and leak proof work as our dogs have not had an accident on the bed. The protector was purchased and placed on a new mattress with a mattress cover over it. Sometimes the dogs sleep on the bed and we didn't want to take any chance they might have an accident that seeps through and stains the mattress. I expect the protector to be water resistant and leak proof should something be spilled or the dogs have an accident. Should that occur, I will write another review or update this one. For the price, the protector was reasonable.
